A large scorpion was spotted climbing up the chroma key wall at Phoenix NBC affiliate KPNX-TV Thursday.

“It’s got these big claws and it’s looking at me and just snapping right and left,” recalls weatherman James Quinones in a story posted on the station’s conbranded website azcentral.com. “These claws were coming and you could just completely see the shadows. This thing was just moving along through the ground, and it’s like moving around. You could actually see the shadow of it in the corner. It was about that big … men were screaming like girls.”

After being captured with a broom, the critter was taken to the local zoo.
