NewscastStudio has obtained what appears to be a glimpse of the new “Today” graphics package.
The package shown utilizes a blue and orange color scheme, dropping the white, orange, gold and blue look the show currently uses. The colors are similar to competitor “Good Morning America.”
The “Today” logo has also been updated in the images, removing the multiple colors in favor of just orange.
The graphic samples were obtained from an NBC source, but we are unable to confirm if these represent the final graphics. It’s worth noting, however, that NBC typically gives affiliates a head’s up on new graphics for “Today” so they can properly position the local time and temp bug that is overlayed over the network feed by each station.
“Today” rolled out a graphics tweak in February, giving the program a bit of mismatched graphical look.
Overall, assuming the package is representative of the show’s new look, it’s a very polished design and an upgrade for the ratings challenged program.
Check back Monday for a complete recap of the new “Today.”
