Composer James Horner dies in plane crash

Well known for his musical score for “Titanic,” composer James Horner died when his plane crashed in Southern California this week.
Horner was also known in the TV news music world for his work on the theme for the “CBS Evening News with Katie Couric.”
For the CBS theme, he crafted a “sweeping, regal and cinematic” sound that ushered in a new era with Couric, though the theme did not last into Scott Pelley’s tenure.
Horner was 61.
