10 ways the world has used in TV news graphics

‘The Nightly Show’

The now-canceled Comedy Central show “The Nightly Show” took another unique spin on the globe — quite literally. The Comedy Central show opted to flip the world map upside down from its traditional rendering in both its graphics package and on-set background — the idea was to emphasize the show’s mission of providing a “new perspective” at world events.

‘NBC Nightly News’

Speaking of “Nightly” — the 2016 open for “NBC Nightly News” starts out with a view of the world floating in space before quickly zooming into the New York City. “Nightly News” also uses a blue-purple and gold accented world map design as a background element in some on-set graphics.

However, recently NBC has removed this part of the open, though the original version is available here:
