Covering the 2017 eclipse: How the networks covered the sky’s big day

NBC News used its standard special report open before transitioning to a brief animated open and the network’s title card.

Next, a handheld camera swept across the “NBC Nightly News” set in Studio 3A, with the various video panels displaying a mix of imagery, including the network’s “path of the moon” graphics fed to some of the narrow bands of LED.

The camera then moved over to Lester Holt, who stood next to the studio’s “tower” video wall with an additional branded graphic displayed on it.
