‘CBS Evening News’
CBS News, meanwhile, used its normal “CBS Evening News” opening look, with the square imagery replaced with photos and video from the shooting. The music was also switched to a more somber bed.
The open had a “Massacre in Las Vegas” graphic added to the lower left of the screen in a boxed in design that used textured typography and a ragged “torn” edge going down the middle.
Anchor Anthony Mason, who was dispatched to Las Vegas as well, reported from a ground level location with the hotel and police tape visible behind him.
The textured typography was also used on full screen graphics that used bright yellow text to report the causalities.
