Less structure, more tech
At all levels of set design, LED video walls and arrays have started to replace more traditional scenic elements, such as walls, duratrans or other printed backgrounds, though backlit panels are still a popular choice to “fill in the gaps” between video panels.
While video panels are taking over much of the wall space on sets, structural elements such as headers, columns and narrow framework still play a key role in set design — and in fact add a creative challenge to many designs.
