Nexa is used throughout NBC’s on air graphics for the Olympics — ranging from lower thirds and other insert graphics, score and data charts and event wipes as well as promotional snipes and spots used before and during the games.
In some applications, such as the stacked logotype used to promote the Olympics, the letters are tightly spaced to the point where the carefully crafted design flows together at some points.
This look is indicative of the brutalist design trend that has become popular of late — a look that relies on modern but heavy, stocky and stiff elements.
