On NBC, “NBC Nightly News” anchor Lester Holt stood in front of Studio 3A’s video tower with an image of Cohen to kick off the broadcast, with the words “Guilty Plea” topped with a red “Breaking News” banner.
Holt then, with some irony, pointed out how the scenes of Cohen and Manafort mirrored each other, wisely using a split screen to showcase this.
Holt then turned and used the studio’s video wall alcove to draw connections between the two stories — as well explain the key differences.
The network started with a package from Hallie Jackson on Cohen, which included a stylied graphic that listed what he is pleading guilty to — with bold red underlines. accents.
