CBS’s open started with its normal special reporter countdown slate before switching to an extended unique design with its “Honoring America’s Maverick” branding.
The network hosted its coverage from Studio 57, home of “CBS This Morning” and the “CBS Evening News,” with the space’s myriad of video walls and arrays displaying a mix of its red and white special report graphics and McCain graphics.
The network also tweaked is normal breaking news look to feature smaller strips running along the bottom of the screen and, at select times, a headshot of McCain in the lower left.
An American flag was added to the header of box layouts, which were also modified from the network’s normal special report look.
