On CBS, the show started its 8 a.m. hour, as it normally does, without its standard theme music, instead playing “Wake Up” by Arcade Fire as anchor Gayle King, standing amidst numerous “Hurricane Florence” branded video walls and panels, kicked off the “EyeOpener” segment.
Notably, King did not, as whoever handles the 8 a.m. eastern segment usually does, say “welcome back” or refer to the “EyeOpener” as “EyeOpener at 8.”
“CBS This Morning” previously used augmented reality to showcase how hurricanes work.
