8 (well, now more like 7) things NBC can do with the ‘Megyn Kelly Today’ set

5. MSNBC
MSNBC currently uses Studio 4E and part of 3A for most of its New York City based programming — and it’s possible some of the programming could switch to using 6A — perhaps with some minor cosmetic changes. The light and airy informal look might be a good match for some of the network’s weekday or weekend morning programming.
Although MSNBC hasn’t quite taken to the town hall format as much as CNN, the space could be used for that format of programming.
6. Multipurpose location
Though probably not a longterm solution, the network could use the space for standups and even augmented reality segments on other shows, such as “Today” or “Nightly News.” It could also double as a space for taped longform interviews for other shows, such as how the “Meredith Vieira” set was once used to tape an interview for “Today.”
The video walls could also be used for “walk and wander” and “video in video” style shots used across other NBC properties — similar to how the large video video wall in the “ABC World News Tonight” studio is sometimes used during “Good Morning America” even though the two studios aren’t even in the same building.
Give the size and scale of the space, however, such a use probably isn’t the most economical use of the space in the grand scheme of things.
Another possibility could be for midterm election night coverage.
