‘NBC Nightly News‘ Lester Holt was anchoring from Los Angles, so did not have access to his home studio’s myriad of video walls, so instead had to rely on OTS graphics — though its kicker segment was anchored from the bureau’s vertical video panel alcove.

‘NBC Nightly News’ anchor Lester Holt started the newscast start with a red ‘breaking news’ OTS with a ‘Shutdown Deal Reached’ headline.

NBC also used bold red lettering over B roll to showcase key points of the deal.
During coverage of the shutdown, the network used stylized composited images that included a cutout of the Capitol Dome in front of the White House and a blend of taxing airplane, air traffic map and air traffic control tower.

After back-to-back packages on the shutdown deal, Holt cam back on camera with a red colored ‘Mueller Bombshell’ OTS.
