Debriefs
The broadcast also appears to put more emphasis on debriefs, especially for its top stories on the first day under O’Donnell.
The debriefs were either done using double boxes or, in one case, in-studio and typically involved O’Donnell asking the correspondent a question that was then answered live.
Primary background
The primary background behind O’Donnell included, in addition to the cityscapes, a glassy CBS eye in the upper left corner.
This branding element appeared on the broadcast’s push-ins as well as appearing, perhaps strategically, between O’Donnell and the correspondent, in wider two shots for in-studio debriefs.
The studio’s column mounted panels, which can be rotated to either portrait or landscape orientation remained vertical with matching cityscape graphics on Monday’s debut.
