Lower thirds
One thing that didn’t significant change is the layout of the lower third insert graphics.
Although the color scheme was also obviously updated, the typography and animations remain mostly identical to what was used during Glor’s tenure.
Studio updates
Like it has, the O’Donnell rendition of “Evening” originates from Studio 47 in New York City, a space also used by “CBS This Morning.”
For “This Evening,” however, a shiny circular disk is placed on the studio’s riser.
O’Donnells sits with her back to the wall that overlooks 57th street, using the studio’s seamless video wall as a primary background.
The anchor desk, meanwhile, remains the center portion of the “This Morning” desk — without its wings and with the sides clad in a metallic material.
CBS also added a new element to cover the window overlooking 57th street — what appears to be a low credenza topped with a row of video panels.
O’Donnell is also using a bright red chair instead of the previous white ones — as do in-studio guests.
The set, however, is temporary — the broadcast will move to Washington, D.C. later this year.
CBS is at work building a new studio for O’Donnell there.
