NBC News has signed on to produce twice-daily newscasts for the upcoming mobile subscription TV service Quibi.

In what the Wall Street Journal reports as an “eight figure deal,” the network has signed on to be the first partner in the Daily Essentials news and lifestyle programming slate.

According to reports, NBC News will build a custom set at its studios in 30 Rockefeller Center.

Quibi is a new venture backed by former DreamWorks executive Jeffrey Katzenberg and is targeting an April 2020 launch.
