Following the actual debate, CBS turned over coverage to its streaming service CBSN to produce the “Spin Room” that features post debate analysis and interviews with candidates reflecting on that evening’s performance.

This open was apparently edited “on the fly” — since it used a series of soundbites taken from the debate itself, including a portion designed to showcase just how jumbled the dialogue got at certain points.

A similar animated sequence was then used before cutting to Elaine Quijano set up on one side of what appeared to be a large open hall that appeared to be set up as a media filing center.

A trio of experts joined her on a raised platform with rows of tables behind them, a suspended lighting grid wrapped with branding and two video panels set up to face the cameras — plus two signs leaning against the far wall — one with the CBS News 2020 logo and the other with the hashtag “#DemDebate.”
