Video: ‘The Situation Room’ updates open as Pamela Brown joins Wolf Blitzer

The updated open for CNN’s “The Situation Room with Wolf Blitzer and Pamela Brown“, which moved to a new morning timeslot and added Brown as co-anchor on March 3, 2025, is part of some broader programming changes at the network.

The open keeps much of its previous look, but with the addition of Brown’s name.

The title card still uses the somewhat odd construction of placing the show’s name in white, right aligned to the left of the lockup, with the hosts’ names on the right side, left aligned in white text in red boxes. Though the red boxes and different font weights help distinguish between the two elements, the design sometimes garnered criticism in the design community because it could, arguably, be read wrong.

The issue remains, in the updated look, meaning it could be incorrectly read as “The Situation Wolf Blitzer Room Pamela Brown.”
