Telemundo stations to provide their first Spanish simulcast of Boston Celtics games

The Telemundo-owned stations serving New England will simulcast NBC Sports Boston’s live coverage of Boston Celtics games with Spanish-language commentary for the first time Saturday, March 29, 2o25.
The coverage begins when Boston visits the San Antonio Spurs at 8 p.m. eatern and when the reigning NBA champions celebrate “Noche Latina” and host the Washington Wizards on Sunday, April 6, 2025 at 6 p.m. eastern.
The live Spanish-language commentary will be led by “Noticiero Telemundo Nueva Inglaterra” Sports Anchor Jesús Quiñones, who will serve as the play-by-play announcer. Quiñones will be joined by analyst Giddel Padilla, a former professional basketball player and University of Massachusetts guard.
The Spanish-language coverage will be presented on Telemundo Boston, WNEU, Telemundo Connecticut, WRDM, Telemundo Providence, WRIW and Telemundo Springfield, WDMR. The English-language coverage, featuring announcer Drew Carter and analyst Brian Scalabrine, will be presented on NBC Sports Boston.

The Celtics ‘Noche Latina’ celebration on April 6 will feature several special activations, including:
- The team wearing special shooting shirts
- Halftime Performance by Cuban Dominican Latin soul artist, Yelena Rodriguez (@yelenamusic_)
- Hero Among Us award with Patricia Sobalvarro and Damaris Velasquez of Agencia ALPHA are being recognized for empowering community members to become leaders, overcome social challenges, while celebrating Latino culture. Since its establishment in 1997 by the Boston Celtics, the Heroes Among Us program has recognized outstanding individuals who have made exceptional and lasting contributions to their communities. The award is presented at every Celtics home game and pays tribute to the heroic achievements of these outstanding citizens.
