NBC News Digital has launched a new app for “Today” that allows users to view video clips while also accessing other content on the same screen.

The feature, called “Multi-Tasker,” is essentially a split screen that NBC News execs bill as “groundbreaking.”

“This is the first real app we’ve designed inhouse,” explained, Jen Brown, vice president and executive editor of “Today” Digital in an interview with Broadcasting & Cable.

The new app isn’t available yet on iOS, but Android and Windows users can download the app now.

The app overhaul comes on the heels of NBC News Digital’s one year anniversary.
