‘NewsHour’ bids farewell to longtime home

“PBS NewsHour” bid farewell to its longtime studio Friday, June 7, 2024.

The show’s Washington, D.C.-based segments have been produced from the WETA satellite production facility in Arlington since 1976. It has also handled almost all studio-based editions of the broadcast and its weekend counterpart since 2022.

Starting Monday, June 10, 2024, production is moving to the main WETA building on Campbell Avenue in Arlington. The two facilities are a few blocks from each other.

“NewsHour” is expected to take over Studio A, one of the three new studios added to the building as part of a years-long renovation and expansion project. Studio C, a smaller space, will also be used for select segments.

“Washington Week with The Atlantic,” which shares studio space with “NewsHour” will also move to Campbell Avenue in late June or July 2024.
