With Gannett‘s head-scratching decision to name its digital and broadcasting spinoff “Tegna,” we wonder what it would look like if other media companies tried this approach to naming.

  • Hearst: STERAH
  • Tribune: UNBRITE (would the water filter people be mad?)
  • News Corp.: SCWERNPO
  • NBCUniversal: CINBILVEURSA
  • E.W. Scripps: P.P.SCREWSI
  • LIN: NIL (not many options here…)
